Challenge
The operator relied on OTAs and paid social. Organic visibility for experience-intent queries around Cancún was weak, Google Business signals were inconsistent, and prior link vendors delivered irrelevant lifestyle posts that never mentioned local specifics.
Strategy
We repaired NAP consistency, improved the Cancún landing page with seasonal itineraries, and earned coverage from travel publishers and responsible-tourism desks. Digital PR timed around shoulder-season data. Outreach stayed honest about crowd patterns and booking windows.
Links built
29 travel editorial links, 1 local news feature, and cleaned citations across priority directories. Emphasis on in-content links to the Cancún experience hub.
TODO: operator quote on sustainable storytelling versus spammy travel directories.
Challenge
Tourism SERPs mix Map Packs, OTA giants, video, and editorial guides. The operator’s site told a beautiful story in brand photography yet failed basic local consistency and lacked endorsements from travel editors who influence planning journeys.
Previous SEO work chased national head terms without city depth. Cancún intent needs specifics: neighborhoods, seasonality, and practical trip logistics. Generic country pages did not compete.
Strategy
We treated the Cancún hub as the primary money page, supported by itinerary articles and FAQ blocks matching People Also Ask patterns on google.com.mx. Citation cleanup came first so Maps signals stopped conflicting.
Editorial outreach focused on travel publishers with real readership and on one data story about shoulder-season crowd patterns. We refused directory blasts and PBN travel “magazines.”
Links built
Twenty-nine editorial placements and one local news feature shipped with seasonal timing. Links pointed to the hub and to itinerary supports. Attributes matched publisher norms, including disclosed sponsored travel features where applicable.
Results
Bookings, pack visibility, and brand search moved in the right direction according to internal dashboards. Public-facing numbers remain TODO placeholders on this page. The chart shows illustrative cumulative link delivery by month.
Testimonial
Client-approved language will replace the TODO quote after marketing review.
